Evan played basketball on a YMCA team during the winter, and now he's playing baseball with a league, Fearless Baseball, organized by the Coach at Evan's school. Game rules are modified for each Division, to foster a positive experience and encourage improvement. For example in Evan's Division, comprised of 3rd-5th graders, games have six innings, coaches pitch to their own batters, and seven is the maximum number of runs a team may accumulate while at bat.
I've seen some remarkably good plays, including well placed long throws to first, catches of hard hit fly balls, and well executed force outs.
